Scottish Sampler Class
Registration is now open! Robin Laukhuf of Olde Willow Stitchery will be teaching her reproduction Scottish Sampler September 16-17, 2011 Holiday Inn Express & Suites 1637 N. 12th Court Van Buren, AR 72956 Class price is $210 per person and includes project supplies, Friday evening reception, Saturday lunch, and breaks. Class size is limited to 25. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at registration. Balance of fees is due by Monday, August 15, 2011. We accept monthly payments with the balance paid in full by this date.
For those coming from out of town, we reserved a block of rooms for two nights at the hotel with a special rate of $75 per night, plus 11% state and local taxes. Each student is responsible for room reservations and payment. Use reservation code “Scottish Sampler” when making your reservations. You may select a King (1-2 people) or a Double Queen (1-4 people) room. Hotel telephone number is (479) 471-7300.
The Scottish Sampler kit includes NPI silk floss, Lakeside Linen fabric of 36 ct. “Vintage Buttercream”, color pictures of the original and reproduction sampler, and stitch diagrams of all specialty stitches.
Instructor Bio: Robin Laukhuf is an entrepreneur, designer, and teacher; who has a Master's degree in Business and is currently working on her Doctorate. She is the owner of Olde Willow Stitchery Threads Inc., and enjoys teaching at area stitching guilds and shops. She has taught at national needlework trade shows, and online college business and law classes. Her designs and articles have been published in many embroidery magazines; Cross Stitch and Needlework, Sampler and Antique Quarterly, Piecework and The Gift of Stitching. She enjoys bringing her knowledge of the originality of using hand-dyed threads and the historical perspective of samplers in all her designing and stitching efforts.
Camp Tangled Thread
Our semi-annual stitching retreat is held at Mulberry Mountain Ranch on Highway 23, north of Ozark, AR.

Local Embroidery Groups
Both groups meet at the main branch of the Fort Smith Public Library, Rogers Avenue.
